The air separator-also called aeraulic separator-is a solid waste sorting machine that enables efficient separation of waste based on the weight of materials.
This aeraulic separation makes it possible to divide an undifferentiated stream into two distinct streams automatically, without the presence of operators.
The air separator consists of: a fan that pushes air in a closed circuit, a rotating drum, a feed belt (called a “launcher”), a light-weight fraction collection belt, a stilling chamber (volume in which the air slows down and the material settles) and a filter to break down dust.
The air blade created by the fan subjects the incoming waste to separation:
The air separator allows the material flow to be classified into two fractions:
The types of waste that can be screened with the air separator are:
Plastic
waste
Bottles
and flacons
Paper
and cardboard
Municipal
waste
Construction and
demolition waste
RDF
Compost

The output streams that can thus be obtained from an air separator are typically two:

Using the Parini air separator for waste sorting has many advantages, both from a productivity and maintenance perspective.
Thanks to constant research and development, we produce air separators designed to have easy adjustment and to ensure a quick return on investment for our Customers.
Having simplified the construction, the air separator is easy to install (can be delivered assembled), simple to operate, and low maintenance.
Parini air separators are divided according to the width of the launching belt.
Our air separators are designed, manufactured and assembled according to the customer’s specific requirements. The main components are standard and modular to ensure quick delivery and spare parts are always available.
